Yes, you heard right, a stamped card without using a ink pad....we will make a temporary pad out of wax paper but then I am getting ahead of myself.......here is the card first.....
Now this card is for two challenges today....first for City Crafter Week 70 Scrap Happy....all of the pieces used was scraps (my scraps has grown with all the swaps I did this summer)...even the punched out flowers was already punched out and just waiting to be used. The second challenge was one of colors thru ColourQ cQc#98 using Soft Suede, Island Indigo, *Bermuda Bay*, Lucky Limade, and White. Bermuda Bay is a discontinued color so I used Tempting Turquoise and it is really close color...Bermuda Bay has a little more green in it. So I used Tempting Turquoise more in the background of the card, and less shows on the front of it. I will list the supplies and then I will tell ya all how I did the stamped image.
Supplies for this card besides basic supplies are:
Card Stock: Tempting Turquoise, Island Indigo, Soft Suede, Lucky Limeade, Whisper White
Reinkers: Tempting Turquoise, Island Indigo, Soft Suede, Lucky Limeade
Stamp Set: Happiest Birthday Wishes, Block I
Brads: Tempting Turquoise
Aqua Painter
Punches: Doily Triple Layer,Punch Pack
Wax Paper
I love using the aqua painters and the reinkers...first the punched out doily flower pieces, I got them wet and then used the aqua painter to add ink here and there to them, I like to start with the lightest color and just work my way thru the colors. Set them aside to dry or use the heat tool on them...don't let them blow away....next I took the wax paper and just added the left over ink to the surface of the wax paper...just colors here and there....I had never done this before I just did not know how it would look....applied the stamp to the wax paper and then to the piece of Whisper White cardstock...it looked great...but it was just too white white so with the left over ink on the wax paper, added it to the sides of the stamped image...add a bit more water if needed on the edge to make the color move....
Hope you liked the card and if I can be of any help to any of you at any time, just email or call....wonder what the next challenge card will be...........til Wed.....
Barb

What a super idea - I've been getting inky this week - and you've given me another technique to try! I really like your card with the bold blocks of colour and the random colours on the flowers and sentiment! Fab!
