PPA122 Color Challenge

Two cards instead of just one today.....both done with MDS.......

and with a few color changes...

It is a bit late in the week for PPA122 but today with all the cold and the boys had left for a while (nephews) so I got on the computer to play with MDS..My Digital Studio to do a card for ya...

Every week Pals Paper Arts has a challenge on thursdays so do check back with them each week...it is lots of fun...next week I am the featured artist...sorry was going to post what the subject is but you all have to wait...most likely it will be done with MDS...

PPA119 Fashion Inspiration....Holiday thank you card

It is Thursday, was going to sleep in this morning, my only morning this week to do so but plans change...so after I got home again this morning I decided I needed to get to work for the PPA119 challenge....I made this 6 x 6 card all on the computer...with My Digitial Studio SU program...it was so easy to do. This week the challenge is on Fashion Inspiration of the Holidays and what better card to do but a Thanksgiving thank you card.....I just love how you can resize the stamps, etc and instead of stamping off a stamp to make the ink lighter, on the computer you just turn the opacity down like I did on the center stamp.

Then you can print the card on your home printer or have SU printing service print the card out and get as many as you might need...or using the card photo as part of a email thank you etc.

Oct 1st Blog Hop Halloween~Fall Happenings

Thank you for hopping today with us, “Hopping Just for the Fun of it”. Today’s theme is Halloween / Fall Happenings, Do hop thru our fun hop this Saturday featuring Fall and Halloween projects..... I happen to be Stop #16 of 17 stops along the way this month.

To start out with, I am having knee surgery in the morning of Friday, Sept 30. So I am typing up this post ahead of time. I did two challenges on this one, the blog hop itself and a weekly challenge at Pals Paper Art. This week it was heat embossing. October is a busy month for my family and I did something a bit different....I used my stamps and embossing to decorate one of Roberts birthday gifts. It's more Legos...he is going to be 5 so he can't read let so I can post it here...He was born on Halloween so it works with the theme. The other thing I realized with this project I just don't have lot of Halloween stamps...by next year I will just have to have more....

PPA112 Simple Paper Lace card

This card really did not photograph very well, the colors are better than this. The challenge today at Pals Paper Arts is lace today, PPA112, and some how the lace I had ordered from SU did not make it here in time. So I did the paper lace...I do this often with the punch and then use the reinkers to "tea dye" the lace. I punch the lace out, wet the lace, and then using the aqua painter add watered down ink on to the lace...hint, when dry it will lighten up a bit. Oh and another hint: I did something different today when applying the glue to the back of the lace. I put a thin layer of the liquid glue (green bottle) on layer of sticky notes, I slide the lace across to apply the glue and then place on my card. I went a bit pearl crazy on this card but I think it just sets it right.....hope you enjoy...love your comments.....

SUStars Blog Hop Fabulous Folds

I do regular cards most of the time so this is a bit different for me....this summer I hosted a swap of fancy fold type cards and this is a style of one of the cards that was done at that time. If you are hopping with SUStars, you most likely came from Eileen's site, Stampin' Fevre

Supplies used plus basic supplies:

Simply Scored

Cardstock: Wild Wasabi, So Saffron, Wisteria Wonder

Ink pads: Chocolate Chip, Garden Green, So Saffron

Stamp Sets: Always Thankful, French Folliage, Blocks C, D, E.

SU Markers, your choice

Punches: Large Oval, Decorative Label

Ribbon: 1/8 in Taffeta Early Espresso

In doing this card, I only made the one as I am cleaning out my scraps as much as I can right now, did not have to cut a single piece of cardstock from a new sheet....(I wanted to use a DSP but I don't buy alot of DSP...I seem to just keep it and not use, so then I don't buy it) so I made my own by using the leaf stamp instead...I think it looks great that way....

PPA107 Sketch Challenge

Today's card is part of two challenges this week....first the PPA107 of Pals Paper Arts a sketch challenge, and City Crafter Week 70 Scrap Happy....all of the pieces used was scraps (my scraps has grown with all the swaps I did this summer). Stamp set is Bold Blossom and is from the summer mini so I figured I better show it off more before the mini ends and the next one starts.

Supplies for this card besides basic supplies are:

Card Stock: Rich Razzleberry, Pear Pizzazz, Island Indigo, Very Vanilla.

Stamped Birthday Card without a Ink Pad

Yes, you heard right, a stamped card without using a ink pad....we will make a temporary pad out of wax paper but then I am getting ahead of myself.......here is the card first.....

Now this card is for two challenges today....first for City Crafter Week 70 Scrap Happy....all of the pieces used was scraps (my scraps has grown with all the swaps I did this summer)...even the punched out flowers was already punched out and just waiting to be used. The second challenge was one of colors thru ColourQ cQc#98 using Soft Suede, Island Indigo, *Bermuda Bay*, Lucky Limade, and White. Bermuda Bay is a discontinued color so I used Tempting Turquoise and it is really close color...Bermuda Bay has a little more green in it. So I used Tempting Turquoise more in the background of the card, and less shows on the front of it. I will list the supplies and then I will tell ya all how I did the stamped image.

Punches: Doily Triple Layer,Punch Pack

Wax Paper

I love using the aqua painters and the reinkers...first the punched out doily flower pieces, I got them wet and then used the aqua painter to add ink here and there to them, I like to start with the lightest color and just work my way thru the colors. Set them aside to dry or use the heat tool on them...don't let them blow away....next I took the wax paper and just added the left over ink to the surface of the wax paper...just colors here and there....I had never done this before I just did not know how it would look....applied the stamp to the wax paper and then to the piece of Whisper White cardstock...it looked great...but it was just too white white so with the left over ink on the wax paper, added it to the sides of the stamped image...add a bit more water if needed on the edge to make the color move....

Final hop for VC Rocks 2011
